John Keells X, an open inno­va­tion chal­lenge by John Keells Hold­ings PLC, held its inau­gur­al com­pe­ti­tion in 2016, rec­og­niz­ing inno­v­a­tive and dis­rup­tive ideas. The win­ning team, Jen­do, co-found­ed by Keerthi Kodithuwakku, Isu­ru Rajakaruna, and Charith Vithanage, won Rs 2 mil­lion for their ground­break­ing non-inva­sive car­dio­vas­cu­lar health mon­i­tor­ing tech­nol­o­gy. The run­ner-up, Mark­i­fy, received Rs 1 mil­lion for their voice-con­trolled SaaS ana­lyt­ics plat­form. Out of 148 appli­ca­tions, 10 final­ists were short­list­ed and giv­en 60 days to devel­op their ideas, with men­tor­ship from JKH lead­er­ship. The pro­gram aimed to fos­ter young entre­pre­neur­ial tal­ent and sup­port Sri Lanka’s start­up ecosys­tem, with notable judges and part­ners such as SLASSCOM and ICTA con­tribut­ing to its suc­cess.

From Vision to Real­i­ty

Found­ed by biotechno­pre­neur Keerthi Kodithuwakku, Effec­tive Solu­tions (Pvt) Ltd emerged from the pres­ti­gious MIT Glob­al Start­up Labs pro­gram, aimed at address­ing crit­i­cal chal­lenges in health­care through tech­nol­o­gy. Our jour­ney began in Sri Lan­ka, quick­ly expand­ing our reach to Japan, the UK, and the US, estab­lish­ing a strong inter­na­tion­al pres­ence.

Through strate­gic part­ner­ships and relent­less ded­i­ca­tion, we have con­tin­u­al­ly evolved, becom­ing a rec­og­nized leader in bio­med­ical inno­va­tions. Our co-found­ing of Jen­do Inno­va­tions Ltd fur­ther solid­i­fied our com­mit­ment to research and devel­op­ment in the bio­med­ical sec­tor.
